Davon A. Gray

Davon Gray has amassed an extensive career in Washington D.C. over the passed ten years. Mr. Gray’s work includes the area of government and political affairs and as an Army officer in the National Guard.

Mr. Gray’s government affairs experience has involved acquiring appropriations for hospitals, community health centers, and educational organizations. Mr. Gray has worked in a bipartisan manner with members of Congress, their staffs and affiliated organizations to accomplish legislative goals. His bipartisanship has extended to working on three presidential campaigns for two Democrats and one Republican. Most recently, Mr. Gray served as the National Coordinator for Health Care Professionals for the presidential campaign of Senator John McCain (R-AZ).

In 2001, Mr. Gray was a candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates where he garnered 42 percent of the vote at the age of 29 against an 18-year incumbent.

Aside from Mr. Gray’s government affairs and political involvement, he has created a political opinion column appearing weekly in a Washington area newspaper, The Potomac News. Mr. Gray’s column is in its seventh year with The Potomac News. Previously Mr. Gray’s articles appeared on the former political website politicallyblack.com, and in the PR Weekly publication.

Mr. Gray has made television appearances on C-SPAN where he helped organize a bipartisan forum discussion on Capitol Hill regarding the 2000 election and issues including health care and education. He has also appeared on several nationally syndicated radio shows such as “The Bev Smith Show.”

As an active member of his local community, Mr. Gray served as a member of the Prince William County Youth Service Board from 2007 to 2009. He was a guest lecturer at George Mason University discussing the 2008 elections. He has also spoken about Christian youth leadership principles at the Granville Leadership Academy in Northern Virginia and at “A Day of Recognition in Honor of the Historically Black Episcopal Colleges” at Howard University sponsored by Saint Augustine’s College, Saint Paul’s College, and Voorhees College.

Mr. Gray has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and a Masters Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in Health Care Management. Mr. Gray also attended the Thomas Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership at the University of Virginia.

Mr. Gray currently lives in Manassas, Virginia with his wife Sherri and their two daughters Ashley and Lauren.
