Signature Events
General Membership Meetings
Held bimonthly, the General Membership Meeting provides an opportunity to engage fellow peers about current political events, and receive updates on WGRG activities. Congressional policymakers and Administrative staff are often invited for a meaningful exchange with attendees.
Holiday Reception
Our annual December reception gives members and prospective members an opportunity to meet and greet while toasting the accomplishments of another successful year for WGRG.
The John Chambers Memorial Golf Tournament
This annual golf tournament is named in honor of the late John Chambers, an original member of WGRG and one of its first Presidents. The tournament benefits the WGRG Foundation which offers fellowships to deserving college students looking to pursue a career in Government Relations.
Policy Roundtable Series with Members of Congress and the Administration
WGRG hosts monthly breakfast events with Members of Congress and the Administration. These events, limited to up to 20 attendees, offer participants one-on-one interaction with the policymakers on important issues.
Table Talk Series
As an opportunity to broaden WGRG’s professional development opportunities, WGRG organizes lunches with seasoned lobbyists or government relations professionals. The lunches provide an opportunity for a small group of WGRG members to get advice on advancing in the government relations field and to have an informal conversation about their successes, challenges and responsibilities.
The 25th Anniversary Gala
In 2006, WGRG celebrated its first quarter-century achievements of providing professional development and networking opportunities for African American government relations professionals.
"Welcome to Congress" Reception for Freshmen Members of Congress
WGRG has held receptions to welcome freshmen members at the beginning of a new session of Congress.
WGRG Mentor Program
The WGRG mentoring program connects experienced government relations professionals with those new to the profession or those who would like to enhance their exposure to professionals with different experiences and capabilities.
