Danielle McBeth

Immediate Past President

Danielle McBeth is a diligent government relations and public affairs expert with experience collaborating

with leaders from all levels of government and both public and private sectors. While serving as Director of

Government Relations at Florida A&M University, she was part of the President’s Senior Leadership Team,

leading advocacy to secure over $70 million in state funding for student success programs and vital

campus infrastructure. She played a key role in building strong partnerships with state and federal agencies

and obtaining significant federal grants, including those that helped expand broadband access, close the

digital divide, and protect university assets listed on the National Registry of Historic Places.


As a Partner at Alcalde & Fay, Danielle gained extensive experience working with corporate, municipal, and

educational clients. Within a few years, she became the youngest African American woman named partner

in an established independent government affairs firm. Her advocacy covered a wide spectrum, including

transportation, economic development, infrastructure, education, technology, and immigration. She led

legislative efforts for organizations before Congress, helping to revise and promote national policies. Some

of her notable accomplishments include winning federal grants and legislative appropriations for local

governments for water and wastewater projects, roadways, law enforcement technology, and marine

science research and education.



Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Danielle holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Florida A&M University.

She went on to earn her law degree from American University, Washington College of Law, while

continuing her work in government relations. Danielle has received the News Service of Florida Above and

Beyond Award, recognizing women in government and public service, and has been honored among the

National Institute for Lobbying and Ethics Top 100 Lobbyists. She has served as President of the

Washington Government Relations Group, co-founded 100 Women Who Care Tallahassee, and is a

member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
